Located in an affluent Atlanta neighborhood, Shops at Woodlawn was previously a freestanding store for the bankrupt Hi-Fi Buys electronics chain. Despite its unique location fronting one of the city’s most popular grocery stores, the vacant building was a community eyesore.
A Pecos Ventures partnership with an individual investor acquired the property in 2006 to create a sustainable neighborhood destination.
The design solution included converting the large warehouse store into multiple spaces, creating an outdoor dining area, replacing roll-up delivery doors with loft-style windows, and adding local granite, fabric awnings and extensive landscaping.
The property is now comprised of a carefully curated assortment of independent merchants and serves as a neighborhood gathering place.
